Rights
and terms are usually stated at the beginning of ebooks or included in
a file somewhere in the software package. All you have to do is look
for it because claiming 'I didn't know' is no excuse. Normally the
files will be called license.txt, readme.txt or something similar.
There
are many different rights assigned to products available in this member
area. To clear up confusion about the differences between the rights,
here's an explaination of each term.
Personal Use When
you buy a product, (ebook or software) or anything else online, you do
not get the rights to resell it. You are NOT allowed to resell it or
even give it away to your friends. You have the right to USE the
product and create a back up copy for it. That's it. Nothing more.
Giveaway Rights When
a product comes with Give Away Rights, that means you get a copy of the
product and that you can also give it away to anyone for FREE.
Branding Rights You
pay the product owner to create a customized version of the product for
you or the product comes with a brander program. Rebranding can include
changing affiliate links, co-branding or other types of customization.
Resell Rights When
a product comes with Resell Rights, you are allowed to sell the product
to others. This also means that you get to keep all the money for the
sale of the product. Many come with pre-written sales pages, images and
sometimes even delivery pages.
You can not pass your resell
license on to others. This means anyone who buys the product from you
can not sell it to others without buying the resell rights from the
owner.
Sometimes products will come with additional limitations
such as a minimum price you can sell the product for, bundling
restrictions and/or adding the product to membership sites.
Master Resell Rights If
you own Master Resell Rights to a product, you can resell it, bundle it
or include it in your own membership site such as this one. You can
even pass on the resell rights to others, meaning that when you sell
that product to someone, they can turn around and sell it to someone
else. Master resell rights vary a little depending on the product
creator.
Non Transferable Master Resell Rights Generally,
these have the same rules as the master resell rights listed above
except you cannot sell the master resell rights, only the basic resell
rights and the product itself.
Private Label Rights Private
label products include the source files. This means you can use it to
create a new product from the source files and put your own name on it
as if you created it yourself. You can edit the content, add to it,
remove certain parts, create new images, redo the sales page and
repackage the entire product. You could even use the content to create
a online e-course, or break it up into mini reports.
Non Transferable Private Label Rights Generally,
these have the same rules as the private label rights listed above
except you cannot sell the private label rights, only the product
itself or use the content to create new products.
Not Specified Some
of the products listed on this site are listed as Not Specified. We
purchased resell rights to every product on this site - this does not
mean those rights are passed on to you automatically. You must be sure
to read the license terms included in each package to find out what
YOUR rights are in relation to the product.
Not Specified simply means we have not opened the package to see what YOUR rights are.
Restrictions by the owner/creator When
you buy a product with Resell Rights OR Master Resell Rights, you
should check on any special restrictions the owner has imposed on your
rights. For example, you may have bought the Master Resell Rights for a
product, BUT this does not mean you can:
*Give the product away. *Include this product in your affiliate program. *Include the product in a package and resell the whole package. *Include a product in a membership site. *Sell it on auction sites such as eBay.
If
you are NOT sure about your rights, DO NOT EVER decide for yourself.
Contact the owner and ask what your rights are. If you want to add the
product in a package or membership site and those rights are not
specified in the package terms, ask her/him to allow you to do so.
NEVER resell a product without knowing the license terms.
